BOOKS covering mental health issues have been made available at Worcestershire libraries.

The collection of 35 books, providing information, support and advice on issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and self-harm, have been made available on the shelves of The Hive in Worcester, Droitwich, Evesham, Kidderminster, Malvern, Tenbury, Bromsgrove and Wythall libraries.

The books, endorsed by experts and aimed at 13 to 18-year-olds, also cover difficult life pressures, such as bullying and exams.

The books, part of the Reading Well for Young People initiative, are all free to borrow as long as you are a library member - library membership being free, quick and easy to set up, just requiring proof of identification.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for localism and communities, said: "The books on prescription we have in our libraries are well used and is important that we extend the information and advice we provide on mental health issues to young people."
