OUTSTANDING students from Heart of Worcestershire College were celebrate at the annual Further Education Awards.
The College held two ceremonies, at Worcestershire County Cricket Club and the Artrix, Bromsgrove, where students from all four campuses celebrated their achievements.
This year's theme was tourism and destinations and the college awarded over 100 students with awards, including ‘Outstanding Achievement’, ‘Employability Award’ and ‘Diligence Award’ in their subject areas.
The ‘FE Student of the Year’ awards were awarded to Ellis Laffan, from Bromsgrove & Redditch campus, and James Walker, from Worcester & Malvern campus.
Guest speaker Oliver Carpenter, CEO of Jigsaw Marketing and Tourism Ambassador for Visit Worcestershire gave a talk about his life, career and how he came to build his company and his successful management of festivals.
Stuart Laverick, principal and CEO, said: “We are very proud of all of our learners and the achievements they’ve made both academically and personally throughout the last year.
"The Further Education Awards recognise those students who have made a significantly positive impact on their teachers, peers, staff and the College as a whole.
"I’d like to once again congratulate each and every one of them on their success.”
