THIS sinister-looking 'red eye' appeared in the sky over Worcester this morning.
The eerie sight was, of course, the rising sun appearing through a gap in the thick, grey clouds.
But it reminded Worcester News reader Steve Harborne, who took this picture, of the evil eye of Sauron in JRR Tolkien's fantasy novel and film The Lord of the Rings.
Steve quipped: "The battle for Middle Earth grows closer as the eye of Sauron overlooked Worcester this morning!"
