AN MP has officially opened a new part of a school near Droitwich.

Nigel Huddleston, MP for Mid Worcestershire, opened the extension to Cutnall Green Primary after part of it was converted into new learning space and office buildings.

The new rooms are in a Victorian building which used to be the living accommodation of the headteacher.

Catherine Atkinson, head of school at Cutnall Green said: “It is a great pleasure to see our school go from strength to strength.

"This expansion will enable us to improve and expand the learning experience of our pupils.

"We are extremely fortunate to have be connected with the Elmley Trust, which has given us the financial support to make this dream a reality.”

The school in part of the Rivers Academy.

Kate Brunt,CEO of the Rivers Academy said: “Cutnall Green is a fantastic village school with a true sense of community and a commitment to learning.

"Based on these strong principles, the school has flourished further under the Rivers Multi Academy Trust and the new opportunities that this extension brings and this makes it an extremely exciting time for pupils and this thriving village.”

The new rooms were opened on Friday, May 6.
