A MAN was threatened with a bottle and verbally abused during an attempted robbery in Worcester.

The 22-year-old victim had been walking on College Street just after 6.05pm on Wednesday, April 27 when he was approached by a pair of men.

It is said one of the men was pushed into the victim and verbally threatened him, following which an altercation took place by the Vue Cinema on Friar Street.

The victim was then threatened to hand over his belongings.

Police say he was then threatened with an object, believed to be a bottle, but he was not injured.

The first suspect is described as a white man, aged approximately 25 or 26 years old, between 5ft 8inches and 5ft 9inches and of a medium build.

He is believed to have dark blond or brown, long, gelled, spiked hair and was thought to be wearing a long sleeved top with the words 'tap out' written on it.

The second suspect is described as a white man aged about 24 years old, approximately 5ft 11inches to 6ft in height and of a stocky build.

He is thought to have black hair and a moustache, and was described as wearing a baseball cap, grey tracksuit trousers and a grey and white t-shirt.

Police believe several members of the public may have witnessed the incident, or recorded it on their mobile phones.

Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
