THE most popular names for babies born in Worcester have been revealed.

According to a list compiled by Bounty Parenting Club, the favourite boy's name in 2015 was Harry while Amelia remained in the top spot for girls.

A country-wide study of more than 340,000 baby names showed Teddy, Arthur and Jackson are increasingly popular names for boys, while Nancy, Florence and Thea, are becoming more fashionable for girls.

Meanwhile, newborn babies are less likely now to be named Riley, Tyler, Lexi or Leah.

Lisa Penney, spokeswoman for Bounty.com, said: "Celebrity name choices continue to influence parents' choices, but the birth of royal baby Charlotte in May surprisingly did not increase the popularity of the name.

"Choosing your baby's name is an important decision to get right, it has to be a name you love, work with your surname, but it has to be able to grow with your child.

"It's important to remember that as quickly as a name may have risen to fame when you have your baby, it could easily fall out of favour just as quick."
