THESE dramatic pictures of sparks flying show Droitwich firefighters in action.
But they aren't extinguishing a fire or dealing with an incident - in fact they are carrying out DIY repairs.
The images show members of the urban search and rescue team, which are based at Droitwich fire station, making modifications to the hot fire training facility at Defford.
The facility is used for skills development and training drills by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from across Worcestershire.
Droitwich's firefighters used heave cutting equipment, which is usually used in technical situations such as train crashes or collapsed buildings, to carry out the DIY repairs.
Kevin Steadman, a firefighter in Droitwich, said it was normal practice for firefighters to carry out DIY repairs if they have the required skill set in-house and added that the exercise had proved an excellent training opportunity for those involved.
