BRITAIN is nation of prolific tea drinkers, but a new study suggests we are lagging behind in the global tea-drinking league tables.
Tea drinkers in the West Midlands get through more tea than any other region in Britain with 52 per cent drinking four or more cups a day, while more than one in ten make their way through eight or more cups each day.
The new survey by working animal charity, SPANA, found that the UK comes in fifth place in the tea drinking rankings, behind Turkey, Morocco, Ireland and Mauritania.
West Midland tea drinkers rate regular black tea blend, followed by English Breakfast tea and green tea as their favourites types of the drink.
