A FATHER of triplets who lives near Worcester got another big shock when he won a new car and cash a day before they celebrated their first birthday.

Ned Anderson of Rushwick near Worcester won a brand new car and £10,000 in cash which put him in a party mood ahead of his daughter's birthday celebrations.

He said he plans to use the cash to buy a ring for his partner and keep his children in nappies.

The 31-year-old who works as a quantity surveyor in Stourport was the lucky winner of a new Ford Focus RS worth £30,000, which had a case full of cash hidden in the boot in a prize draw organized by supercar competition company Best of the Best.

He was left speechless when he went to work on Tuesday and was greeted with his prize by wife Emily and his three daughters Fleur, India and Arla – who turned one on Wednesday (August 26).

Mr Anderson said the money would help with the 150 nappies his daughters were using each week.

He said: “It's just fantastic; I never thought I would win. I'm just totally shocked.

“When they turned up in my office I couldn't quite believe it was real but then when I went outside and saw the car and Emily waiting outside with the girls, just an incredible surprise."

Ben Hughes, of Best of the Best, said: “It was a lovely family moment being able to take Ned a stunning little hot hatch. The RS isn’t actually available yet so Ned will be able to spec up one of the first off the production line.

“It was a particularly easy surprise as Ned had filled in the form with his wife’s contact details – although he hadn’t actually told her that he played.

“But she was delighted and as well as paying out for all those nappies, Ned has promised to use some of the money to buy her a ring, which I’m sure she deserves after a year of bringing up three children under one.”
