A WOMAN was assaulted by a group a teenage girls at a pet shop in Worcester.

The 39-year-old victim was shopping in Just for Pets in Tallow Hill when she noticed the group of girls acting in a disorderly manner.

When she challenged the group she was verbally abused and left the shop in an attempt to defuse the situation, but was followed closely by the girls.

She felt a sharp blow to her lower back and turned around to see several members of the group were filming the attack and they were all laughing.

Police Constable Daniel Hines appealed to anyone who saw the attack to contact him.

“I know there were other members of the public inside the shop at the time of the offence,” he said.

“This incident has left the victim feeling very upset.

West Mercia Police will not tolerate such behaviour and I would urge any witnesses to contact me.”
