A VINTAGE tea party in aid of has already raised hundreds of pounds for a sexual abuse support centre, with more rolling in.

Pollyanna Hammond of Kempsey-based Pollyanna’s Party Hire has already raised £683 for the West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre with ticket sales for the event at her home in Kempsey on Saturday, August 1.

Mrs Hammond said the event had proven so popular she has had to stop offering tickets.

“I thought we’d only have 10 or 15 people, but it looks like we’re going to have 50 to 60,” she said.

“It’s the power of Facebook and Twitter.”

The event will include cream tea and performance by Malvern-based The Poppy Sisters.

The West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre is a free and confidential support services for people who have experienced rape, assault, incest, sexual abuse, sexual harassment or any form of physical, verbal or emotional sexual attack.
