THE flag over Worcester's Guildhall will be lowered to pay tribute to the victims of the Tunisian shooting, including University of Worcester student Joel Richards.

There will be a minute's silence across the country at noon tomorrow (Friday) for the 30 Brits killed in the atrocity by IS fanatic Seifeddine Rezgui.

This will be observed by staff at the Guildhall and there will also be 60 seconds of silence at Worcester Cathedral.

Everyone in the holy establishment will be asked to remain stationary and silent from the moment the cathedral bell begins to strike 12.

The Very Reverend Peter Atkinson, Dean of Worcester, said: "We shall be mindful of all the victims and their families, including Joel Richards, of Worcester University, together with his uncle and grandfather.

"Prayers are offered daily in the cathedral for peace and reconciliation throughout the world."

All staff and students at the University of Worcester have been invited to join in an act of remembrance for 19-year-old Joel tomorrow at 11.30am at the University Arena.

The talented teenager, who started at the university in 2013 and was due to graduate next year, had aspirations of becoming a PE teacher.

His body was flown home on Wednesday.

Joel, who was from Wednesbury in the Black Country, was killed alongside his grandfather Patrick Evans and uncle Adrian Evans.

All three were massive Walsall FC fans and the club will also be holding a minute's silence at their home ground, Banks's Stadium, at noon.

Manager Dean Smith and the entire playing squad will be present.

A statement from Walsall FC said: "The minute's silence will take place outside of main reception here at Banks's Stadium.

"Club staff and officials will be present along with Dean Smith and the entire playing squad.

"Supporters are welcome to join the club in this short service to pay their respects and to lay tributes."
