WORCESTER'S YMCA shop which raises around £10,000 each year for the charity has moved to The Shambles.

The shop is managed by John Caitling who says he hopes all his regular customers will continue to pop in and drop off items for sale.

The shop is in the old Vodaphone store and is a little smaller than the old one but is going to carry on stocking good quality items with a shabby chic style.

The move from the Cathedral Plaza was forced because of improvement works to the area.

"There is a vehicle restriction in The Shambles so anyone dropping larger or bulky items off in a car will need to do so before 10.30am or after 4.30pm.

"I hope this doesn't put people off bringing things as we have a good customer base with regular people calling in and donating items which is very much appreciated," said Mr Caitling.

He is running the new shop with assistant manager Robert Richards and will be open each day except Sundays for the time being.

The shop is also looking for volunteer help on any day.

Anyone with a little time to spare on a regular basis can call in the shop for more information.
