THREE men will embark on a journey of more than 2,200 miles around the coasts of England, Wales and Scotland — driving lawnmowers.

Tenbury Wells has been selected as the start and finish line for the charity challenge, called the Lawn Way Round, which raises money for Crohns and Colitis UK.

Daz Whitehead, from Stoke, Tony Dwight, from Wigan, and Paul Tindall from Dorset, will start their route on Saturday, July 10 and will return to the area for the finish line at St Michael’s Caravan Park, on Friday, July 17, travelling around 300 miles each day.

The challenge is sponsored by petrol lawnmower engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton, and Mark Kerr, area sales manager for the company, said: “When we heard about the Lawn Way Round we thought it tied in brilliantly with our recent 4 Men Went To Mow project so were keen to be involved. It’s for a great cause so we’re delighted to be involved. We wish the Lawn Way Round team all the best for their journey back to Tenbury Wells.”
