CHILDREN got hands on with pottery at a special event at the Museum of Royal Worcester.

The museum hosted the Going Potty event on Wednesday, and 28 children turned their hands to making and decorating their own pots.

Carrie-Anne Parkes, heritage project officer at the museum, said: "The kids had a great time getting messy and making their own nature-inspired pots. The event went down very well, and the children were happy and having fun. People were asking when we would be doing something like it again.

"We also used special air-dry clay which meant children could take home their pots with them on the day rather having to wait for them to be dried in the kiln and then come and collect them a week later."

The museum in Severn Street is running a bug trail today (Friday) and tomorrow and will have more family activities running on August Bank Holiday.
