A Worcester couple have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary surrounded by family and friends.
Jean and Frank Adlam, both aged 80, met at the Pat Collins fairground in New Road in 1953.
They married on January 22, 1955, which was actually earlier than they had planned due to Mr Adlam enlisting into the National Service. He went on to do two years service from 1955 until 1957.
Meanwhile Mrs Adlam worked at Kays in the Tything and then Smiths Wholesalers also in the Tything.
After his National Service, Mr Adlam worked at Heenan & Froudes for 50 years as a service engineer. His job saw him travelling all over the world.
Mrs Adlam's hobbies are reading and doing jigsaw puzzles and her husband is a big football fan, supporting Manchester United and having played for Arboretum Youth & Senior teams.
He is a very talented artist and since retirement has built his own steam model engine.
The couple have two daughters Julie and Diane, two grandsons Dean and Darren and two great-grandchildren Layla & Kody.
Their recipe for a good marriage which they still enjoy to this day is "to give and take, sit and talk things over with each other and finally have a great sense of humour and you wont go far wrong".
The couple celebrated last week with a party to mark the special milestone.
