HOME Bargains opened its doors in Worcester for the first time on Saturday just in time for Christmas.

Mayor, councillor Alan Amos, did the honours cutting the ribbon at 8.30am at the new store at Shrub Hill Retail Park.

The £500,000 investment in the new shop has also created up to 50 new jobs.

It is the first store to open in Worcester, joining 370 Home Bargains outlets across the country.

The 19,000 sq ft unit will give Worcester shoppers the chance to get their hands on bargains, including a great selection of homewares.

Home Bargains also stocks a range of top branded goods at fantastic value, including health and beauty, home style goods, sweets, snacks and drinks.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “The store opening was a great success and we’d like to thank Councillor Alan Amos for giving up his time to attend.

“We’re thrilled by the response we’ve already seen from shoppers in Worcester and are looking forward to seeing even more new customers come through the doors.

"We’d also like to thank all staff members for ensuring the launch day ran as smoothly as possible.”
