A WOMAN was trapped in her car for around an hour after her car collided with a BT lamppost in Pinvin in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters attended the incident in Main Street in Pinvin, near Pershore, and were forced to cut the roof off the car to remove the female driver, who is believed to be in her 30s.

She was treated for chest injuries and a laceration to her head before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic officer and the Trusts MERIT Team attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Crews arrived to find a car that had left the road and been in a significant collision with a lamppost.

"A woman, believed to be in her 30’s was trapped in the car and had suffered chest injuries and a laceration to her head.

"The woman received emergency treatment at the scene whilst being extricated by medics with the assistance of the fire service. She was trapped for around one hour.

"Once released, the woman was transferred to Worcester Royal Hospital for further emergency treatment."

The road was blocked until around 4.30am when the fire service left the scene.
