EASTER was made a little more egg-citing for children after young footballers netted chocolate treats for a charity and the hospital.

Westbury Celtic FC, based in Droitwich Spa, collected chocolate eggs for children and siblings who are supported by St Richard's Hospice and Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

St Richard’s Hospice, based in Wildwood Drive, offers support to children who have a family member under its care, young carers and bereaved children. Sarah Popplestone-Helm, head of family support, said: “This is a lovely idea to donate the Easter eggs for the children we support.

"It’s a gift that will help brighten their day and let them know that other people are thinking about them and their situation.”

Easter eggs were also delivered to children receiving treatment at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Richard Hood, Westbury Celtic FC chairman, said: “Thanks to the players and parents within our club we were able to donate Easter Eggs to St Richard's Hospice and Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

"At Westbury Celtic FC we fully appreciate the value of community.

"Easter, amongst other things, is about family and supporting each other, so we were proud to hopefully bring a little moment of 'chocolate-joy to the children this year.”
