LITTLE yellow chicks and spring flowers adorned the bonnets of pre-school children as they celebrated Easter.

Youngsters from Rushwick Pre-School wore their handmade bonnets to the pre-school's Easter Egg-stravaganza.

Parents and children helped to raise £240 for the pre-school's appeal to fund a permanent classroom and move out of its temporary cabin on Rushwick Primary School's grounds by summer 2015.

Fundraisers are working hard to raise the £100,000 they need by July 2015 and have already raised £18,000 since the campaign launched in May last year.

It has been granted rolling three-year planning permission from Malvern Hills District Council for the structure for the last nine years but fear the council’s goodwill might run out if it is not built by May 2016.

Cathy Pogmore, the pre-school’s administrator, said: "We are on track with our fundraising - the total is £18,000 at the moment - and we have been in talks with Malvern planning so the future is looking a lot brighter."

The pre-school will be holding it's first open day on Saturday, May 10.
