A WORCESTER runner smashed her target in this weekend's London Marathon finishing the race in 3 hours and 39 minutes.
Sophie Booth, who is a management accountant at Your Worcester News, had been expecting to run the race in about 4 hours 30 minutes.
But despite well and truly out doing her own expectations the highlight of the day for the 25-year-old was spotting Olympic champion Mo Farah as he also ran the marathon.
"I am pleased, it was better than what I was expecting and I really enjoyed the day," said Miss Booth, of St John's in Worcester. "I am really happy. It was a brilliant atmosphere and the crowd really got you through.
"The highlight for me was seeing Mo Farah near Tower Bridge, he was running in the opposite way to me."
Miss Booth is raising money for the Malvern based charity, The Joanna Brown Trust, and said she chose the organisation for their local link.
