Fairfield WI

Carol welcomed everyone to the Members evening.

Apologies were given.

Nancie was 90 last week. Carol went to see her in her new home and she had a party with over 50 people there. She seemed happy and settled and enjoyed seeing all her family and old friends.

June has not been able to come to our meetings for some time and it was lovely to see her back.

Audrey has been in hospital but she is now back home and we hope on the way to recovery.

The meal at The Gate was very good. It was a great social gathering and enjoyed I think by everyone.

7 members are going to the Spring Meeting at the Artrix on the 24th April.

The Book Club seems to be thriving now which is good to hear,.

We have a team going to the County Quiz on 3rd April.

The Group meeting is being held by Blackwell and Burcot W.I on April 26th at 7.30 pm at a cost of £5 per person.

I mentioned to the members that the W.I walks were still taking place on the second Monday in the month.

There are approximately 5 W.I's involved and the walk is in a different location every month. We meet at 11am and have lunch at the end. It is a very social occasion, obviously with exercise and loads of fresh air. If you want further information please telephone 01527 871255.

This evening we organised a Bring and Buy sale We had lovely scarves, bags, gloves and some jewellery. Everyone took part in this and I believe it was a success. However, at least one of us ended up buying back items that we had taken!! I don't think that was really the idea. :)

The other thing we did was to have several games of bingo. Brenda very kindly brought in her bingo machine and did the calling for us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this. It was great fun and hopefully we can do it again soon.

Our next meeting is on April 12th 7.30pm in Fairfield Village Hall. The speaker is Anthony Collis on 'Longest reigning British Female Monarchs' and the competition is 5 'Royal' cupcakes.

Do come along you will be very welcome.
