THE first Subway of its kind in the county will be opening in Redditch.

The Advertiser reported last year that two national eateries and up to 10 industrial or trade counter units were to be built on a new £3.5M Crescent Trade Park at Moons Moat Drive.

The site, which will have 70 parking spaces, will be home to Subway as well as Greggs.

Each unit will have internal heights designed to accommodate full mezzanine floors and with flexible planning use.

The Subway will be Fresh Forward store - delivering "a brand-new guest experience" focusing on fresh vegetables being on display.

A spokesman from Subway said: "We are very excited to unveil our new dine-in Subway store in the heart of Redditch.

"This new store will benefit from Subway’s striking new Fresh Forward décor which is a result of a $250 million Global investment in the brand."

The spokesman added that the store will be the first Fresh Forward Subway in the whole of Worcestershire.

"We simply can’t wait to unveil the new store to our new and existing customers," they said.

The store is expected to open in the middle of June.
