BIG Brother star and author Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace will be in Stourport next month for the grand opening of her friend’s new salon.

Angie Monroe is hosting an open day for Rapunzel You, based on the High Street, on Saturday, July 7 and is being supported by her pal and celebrity client.

Miss Monroe received a further boost when her salon was awarded four stars by the Good Salon Guide, whose representative will also be at the opening.

She said she aims to bring the community together with her new salon and people will have the chance to look around her business on the open day, which starts at 2pm.

Aisleyne shot to fame on the reality TV series Big Brother when she appeared in 2006, finishing third in the final.

The 39-year-old has since gone on to appear in the Brit comedy movie Anuvahood and continues to write newspaper columns and appear in programmes related to Big Brother. She also published her autobiography Aisleyne: Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour in 2009.

Miss Monroe, who lives in Stourport, said: “I am delighted that Aisleyne is coming to support me in my opening. She is a good friend and I have also done her hair and extensions.

“We don’t get celebrities like Aisleyne coming to Stourport and, after the event, I will be taking her out into the community.

“My salon is very different to others around here. I’m fresh, modern and upbeat.

“I’m in talks with working with the transgender community to offer them a non-judgemental place to come to make them feel like the women they want to become.

“I want to support them by offering my gender neutral service including eye lash extensions and hair extensions and wig service.

“It is also the first salon in the town to be part of the Good Salon Guide, which is the closest to a governing body for the hairdressing and beauty industry and set a high standard of practice.

“I want to bring the community together and really show off just how much Stourport is changing.”
