KIDDERMINSTER’S nightlife is set for a boost when an Italian wine bar opens its doors later this month.

Veeno has taken the last unit in the £3million Riverside development, overlooking the River Stour, and will open on Friday, June 22.

Owners of the new bar and café have invested £200,000 in the Kidderminster branch and created 10 jobs as a result.

It is the company’s 19th site to open in the UK with Veeno bars already open in cities including Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Brighton.

Bosses said they were excited to be coming to Kidderminster, describing the Riverside development setting as “perfect”.

Nino Caruso, Co-Founder of Veeno, said: “I cannot wait to open the doors to Veeno Kidderminster.

“When we saw Riverside, we knew it was the perfect place to bring our little piece of Italy. Our focus is creating an Aperitif-centred location for relaxation, serving up high quality food and the finest Sicilian wines around.

“We want people from all walks of life to come and enjoy lunch and dinner throughout the week, so whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch at work or having a big night out at the weekend, Veeno is the place to be.”

Veeno’s own wines come from Caruso & Minini, Nino’s family vineyard back in Sicily, where the first vines were planted in the 19th century. There will also be a bar offering craft beers and spirits.

Hand-picked produce will be imported from Italy for the food menu which will include cured meats, cheeses, salads and desserts.

Work on Riverside was completed in May last year and Veeno joins Tappeto Lounge, Coffee#1 and Bistrot Pierre on the former Brinton’s Carpet HQ site.
