BISHOPS will join Christians of different churches for a weekend of community events.

The Bishops of Worcester and Dudley will be in Evesham on Saturday June 16 and Sunday June 17.

Along with the opportunity to ask a bishop questions, there will be the chance enjoy tea and coffee in the town, join with fun in the park or attend a flower festival or songs of praise service.

The Bishop of Dudley, Graham Usher, said: “I’m delighted to be spending next weekend in Evesham. We have a big team of people coming to the town and surrounding areas, to tell their stories and share the love of Jesus with others. I hope people will come and join the fun and think of some really challenging questions to put to me."

From 10am until noon on Saturday, there will be free tea and coffee outside All Saints’ Church before family fun in Abbey Park from 2pm until 4pm with crafts, games and singing.

At 3pm there is the chance to question the bishops at The Valkyrie, Evesham before the same event at The Lenches Club with the Bishop of Worcester John Inge.

On Sunday there will be church services across the area with the Bishop of Worcester in St Peter, Bengeworth at 10am and the Bishop of Dudley in St James, Badsey at 11am.

At 11am there will be a First World War themed flower festival at Kington followed by a Songs of Praise service at 4.30pm.

From 3pm until 5pm a family fun day at Harvington Village Hall will take place followed by a Songs of Praise service.

To round off the weekend, a Songs of Praise service at St Andrew’s, Hampton at 6.30pm.
