TWO sisters in law from Droitwich have raised money to buy iPads for patients at the new oncology department in Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Julie Cattell set about raising the money after her sister in law, who is also called Julie Cattell, had to travel to Cheltenham for her radiotherapy treatment.
The two women organised a pink party, which was attended by 90 people, all dressed in pink, raising approximately £1,400 for the department.
They wanted to buy something which would help entertain the patients while they underwent their treatments.
Mrs Cattell said: “We asked them what they would like us to buy with the money, and they decided that iPads were a good idea. It’s a new unit, it’s not even fully opened yet, so until they signed in they didn’t really know what they wanted. I just really wanted to do something that’s for the patients really.”
