MOUNTAIN biking stars Hans Rey and Josh Bryceland are among the big names coming to Eastnor Castle Deer Park for the GT Bicycles Malverns Classic Mountain Bike Festival.

The event aims to bring together extreme sports and family fun, and Ledbury Town Council's new chairman, Nina Shields, will be officially opening it on Friday, June 15, at 6pm.

The councillor will be cutting the race tape and launching the festival and also starting the first race of the weekend, the dual slalom.

Oliver Paton, Event Manager, said: "Twenty years ago, the Malverns Classic was the UK’s biggest mountain bike festival, this year it’s back with a weekend packed full of family fun and all things mountain bikes.

"The festival consists of five different styles of mountain bike racing, live music, a bar, plus a children’s balance bike race too.

"We have a big focus on families and young people. There will be free trampolines, bouncy castles and stunt shows all weekend plus, children aged 12 and under can come to the festival for free! There will be skills courses available plus bikes and helmets for the kids to use."
