A kind-hearted Hereford school boy took on a daring bungee jump challenge to raise money for a charity close to his heart.

Marcus Powell, 14, jumped from a crane 160ft in the air last month to raise funds for 'Changing Faces', a charity that cares for and empowers people with disfigurements.

The charity has been a big support to Marcus and his family after he was born with a cleft palate.

Wanting to give something back to the charity that helped him, Marcus raised over £410 for the organisation.

Proud mum Samantha Powell said: "I can't believe how brave Marcus was and how sure he was that he was going to jump. Proud doesn't even come close. The fact that Marcus set it upon himself to raise money for a good cause in such an extreme way, is scary but he really wanted to do it."

She added: "Marcus was one of the smallest and youngest jumpers they have had!"

Marcus, who is a keen trampolinist and wheelchair rugby team member, decided to take on the challenge last year but had to wait until he turned 14, the age at which he was allowed to take part.

The brave teenager took on the dizzying feat only 17 days following his 14th birthday.
