HAGLEY Golf and Country Club has par-fected its new practice facilities with the opening of a state-of-the-art driving range.

The Wassell Grove club launched a brand new 28-bay range on Wednesday December 3 with a visit from top golf professionals.

European Tour players Richard Finch and Felicity Johnson joined the Mayor of Dudley and budding golfers from schools in the area to launch the brand-new building.

The new facilities, which are open to the public as well as club members, provide an all-weather practice ground for beginners or experienced players.

Hagley club professional, Paul Johnson, said: “It’s a really exciting time for golfers and anyone interested in learning the game.

“We can now provide a greater range of lessons as well as specialist services where we use the latest video analysis software to assess all aspects of your game.

“We can even compare your swing to Tiger Woods.”

Although the club has been planning an upgrade to practice facilities for many years, work on the new buildings only began in the summer and designers pulled out all the stops to make the range one of the best in the region.

To ensure golfers can work on their swing in the coldest conditions, eight bays are equipped with heaters and floodlighting means the range can stay open until 10pm on weeknights.

The range also features a system which automatically tees-up balls for players and boasts a brand new professional’s shop and changing rooms.
