A DERELICT building caught fire in Redditch yesterday evening (Saturday, August 18).
Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from the townβs station attended the blaze in Dagnell End Road shortly after 7.30pm.
The crews found the fire on the ground floor of the derelict property, involving a single mattress. A hose reel jet was used to put out the flames before the property was ventilated.
West Mercia Police were also called to the scene.

Firefighters attended the scene in Park Way at about 9.45pm, using a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
West Mercia Police were informed of the fire due to locality to the derelict building fire the crews attended earlier in the evening.
