VOLUNTEERS at Halesowen’s historic Leasowes Walled Garden are celebrating after the “amazing” success of a recent table top fundraiser.
Large crowds flocked to the 18th century gem last weekend helping to raise more than £1,100 – including some generous donations – towards the restoration of the popular Grade I listed garden.
Stan Boffey, a volunteer who has raised a considerable amount through the online ‘Leasowes Walled Garden Fundraising’ page on Facebook, said: “We also had about 40 people become new members as a result of visiting our beautiful walled garden.
“The profile of the garden was raised considerably.”
