THE body of a man who went missing nine years ago was searched for in Warwickshire.

Father of three Jesse Richards, 40, died in Evesham, Worcestershire, in July 2009 and police dug up a field on Thursday in Breach Oak Lane, Corley in an attempt to try and find the body.

His remains have never been found despite police offering a £10,000 reward.

Five men were jailed over his death in 2012 and the investigation is likely to take around two days.

White forensic tents were set up.

Detective Chief Inspector Carl Moore said: "Police investigating the death of Jesse Richards concluded a search at a site near Breach Oak Lane yesterday.

Nothing of any significance was recovered, however there will still be police activity there over the next few days to return the site to its original state."

Five men were jailed in connection with his death and were collectively sentenced to more than 50 years in prison.

Mr Richards, who was originally from Gloucester, was killed in a sustained and brutal attack over a drugs debt.

His body is thought to have been taken by his attackers to Warwickshire where it has remained hidden.
