A WYRE Forest canine charity has launched an appeal to help it build a new kennel block for smaller dogs that come in for rehoming.

Forest Dog Rescue is seeing an increasing number of small to medium sized dogs coming into kennels so needs more space.

The Far Forest-based charity is also looking to improve the outdoor views and give the dogs a chance to see the fields. The current views are limited.

And to launch the Small Dog Kennel Fundraising Campaign, the centre has been given a huge boost from a dedicated supporter.

Alison Shore owns a holiday cottage in Normandy, France and has donated a long weekend in June as a prize to help raise funds for Forest Dog Rescue.

The prize includes three nights, self-catering for four people between Friday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 12 at the 18th century detached cottage which has a five star Trip Advisor rating.

It is also dog friendly so the winners take their pet pooches with them.

The prize draw is open until 5pm and people can enter via one of the charity shops, the kennels at Far Forest or via the centre's JustGiving page.
