A RECORD-BREAKING crowd flocked to the 2017 Worcester Show.

The show had 13,000 visiting in its 12th year at Gheluvelt Park on Sunday August 13, an increase of 18 percent on the previous year.

Gerry Leith, chairman of the Worcester Show said: “It was a fantastic day – the sun shone, and it was great to see so many people relaxing, laughing and listening to music in the park.

“I’d like to thank everyone who volunteered, or contributed to making the day such a big success.”

Over 750 entries were received for competitive classes at the show and the winners’ names will be engraved on each trophy, and will be displayed in a cabinet at Worcester’s Guildhall.

Live musical entertainment came throughout the day from Supanova, one of Worcester’s up and coming bands; community choir Got to Sing; Drum Love; Bourbon Alley; Jasper Malone and last but not least, belly dancing by The Severn Sirens.

There was lots for children to do too – including water zorbing, bungee trampolines, an inflatable slide and bouncy castles, provided by Boing Entertainment.

The event raised an estimated £400 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, which offers clinical services, support and assistance for patients at Worcestershire Breast Unit on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site.

Worcester Show organisers donated part of the parking fees raised to the charity.
