A NORTON man has raised more than £2,500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity after a fundraising endeavour which saw him running the 11-mile journey home from work every Monday for more than three months.

Quantity surveyor Tony Arnold ditched his car and ran from his office at Intersection House, West Bromwich, back home to Stourbridge once a week for 15 weeks before taking part in the Stafford Half Marathon which he completed in one hour and 36 minutes.

Tony, from Witton Street, who plays football for Enville FC, described the weekly foot commute as “an inconvenience” but he was “over the moon” to raise a grand total of £2,510 from the challenge.
