A BED-and-breakfast in West Malvern has been shortlisted as one of the friendliest in the country in a national award scheme.

Ashbury Bed and Breakfast in Old Hollow is one of 24 finalists in the AA Friendliest Bed and Breakfast Award, which will be presented at the Landmark Hotel in London on Monday, May 8,

All the finalists have been nominated by AA inspectors, who visit and rate over 2,000 bed and breakfasts throughout the UK.

Ashbury is run by Graham and Karen Ellaway-Bell, who treat all their guests as friends, and both love going the extra mile, booking restaurants or theatre tickets to enhance their guests' stay.

Mrs Ellaway-Bell said: "We are thrilled to have been selected as a finalist in the award. It is fantastic to be recognised for all our hard work. We thoroughly enjoying running Ashbury and welcoming people to our home from all over the world."
