SOUP has been recalled by a supermarket chain due to concerns that it may have been contaminated.

A decision was made to recall the Chicken and Vegetable Soup product from Marks and Spencer stores, because of "a taint caused by possible chemical contamination".

The supermarket chain has asked anyone who has purchased the soup with the unique produce code of 00711135 not to eat it and to return the packs to their nearest store for a full refund.

According to information released by the Food Standards Agency, the decision was made as a precautionary measure.

The product weighs 600G and has a use by date of March 30.

The company will also be putting up point-of-sale notices in branches to highlight the recall.
