THE wheels are in motion to make this year's Worcester Carnival a success - thanks to a Worcester haulage firm.

Martin Pinches, owner of family-run firm Pinches Transport, kindly offered three trucks and drivers for lucky local groups to dress and take part in this year’s parade.

Pinches has long supported Worcester Carnival over the decades and the new organisers are thrilled to see them return.

Carnival president Alan Feeney said “This is just the sort of thing we are looking for - a local firm supporting a local event.

"It shows that there is real confidence in the carnival this year and we hope that these three trucks will be snapped up quickly.

"We are incredibly grateful to Martin and hope that other local haulage firms will mirror his generosity.

"There is so much excitement around the carnival this year and we have had dozens of enquiries. It really is going to be fantastic."

Worcester Carnival will take place on Saturday, July 1 and all Worcester-based groups are welcome to participate. Floats are completely free to enter for community groups.

The team are also looking for walking groups, people in fancy dress or different vehicles.

Other haulage firms are invited to offer their own vehicles to help the carnival in return for generous publicity opportunities.
