BIKERS in Wyre Forest are invited to attend a free 'Biker Down' course this month, offering potentially life-saving skills.

The Biker Down course is delivered in partnership by a number of organisations who all have a vested interest in reducing motorcycle-related casualties and reducing the severity of injuries sustained - including the Safer Roads Partnership, Warwickshire Police, West Mercia Police, Midlands Air Ambulance, IAM RoadSmart, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Designed for motorcyclists of all ages and abilities, Biker Down is a free three-hour course which offers bikers the chance to learn practical skills to help avoid being involved in a crash, as well as essential first-aid training and advice on what to do should they find themselves first at the scene of the crash where a motorcyclist is injured.

The course is made up of three modules - crash scene management, basic first aid and casualty care and 'the science of being seen'.

The Biker Down Course will take place in Kidderminster on Saturday, October 15, between 10am and 1pm.

There are approximately 20 places available and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, and full location details will be provided once confirmed.

If you are interested in attending the course, email Anna Higgins at anna.higgins@westmercia.pnn.police.uk.
