STAFF at a vet's practise in Pershore are steering their talents towards baking to help raise money for the Vale of Evesham School's playground appeal.

The special needs school has been a life-saver for Emma Faizey whose six-year-old daughter Cerys is a pupil there.

"Cerys has cerebral palsy and the school has been absolutely brilliant. She can't wait to go there each day and she has gone from strength-to-strength since she started. They never get fed up of me asking questions and all of the staff are brilliant. Without them I just don't know what I would do," said Mrs Faizey.

To help raise money Mrs Faizey has organised a cake sale at Martin and Carr Vets, in Station Road, Pershore, where she works as deputy head nurse.

"My colleagues here, who are more like my extended family because they are so lovely, have offered to bake cakes and we will sell them on Friday June 3. The cake sale will be on all day and there will also be a raffle for a sweet tree I have made from more than 100 Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

"I really want to thank vet owners Tom and Alison Carr for letting me take over their reception for the cake sale. Hopefully we can get lots of people through the door and raise some money for the school," she said.
