YOUNGSTERS at Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School in Rubery were doing their bit for Children in Need this year with a week of fundraising activities.

On Monday, the nursery children had a visit from a woman who uses an assistance dog. The children learned how Remi the dog helps out by doing jobs around the house, fetching objects like the telephone, and helping with the washing.

The children also took part in their own activities where they found out what it might be like to be blind or deaf, or to not have the use of their arms or legs.

The week ended with a teddy bears picnic, where the children prepared their own party food including teddy bear shaped sandwiches.

In total the youngsters raised more than £50 for Children in Need.
