A SUPPORT group which works to help survivors of domestic abuse in and around Bromsgrove, organised a coffee morning at the weekend to encourage people to share their experiences with one another.

The Support Works Foundation hosted its coffee morning at Bromsgrove Methodist Church in a bid to raise money for the organisation, as well as awareness of the services it provides.

The charity aims to promote the protection and recovery of women and children who have suffered from or are exposed to domestic abuse.

Kay Clarke, the foundation’s founder, said: "The morning was a great success with a range of people visiting us, gaining important information and offering support. We raised £337 on the day which was great. A special thanks to the local Asda store who donated some of the food which made a big difference"

Martin Lakeman, strategic coordinator for domestic abuse and sexual violence for Worcestershire, added: "The work of Support Works and the other specialist providers makes a real a difference to the lives of those looking to break free from abusive relationships. No one should have to suffer in silence. We are fortunate and proud to have a 24hour domestic abuse helpline in Worcestershire which can provide help and support on 0800 980 3331."

Support Works Foundation runs a series of recovery programmes across Worcestershire for women who have survived domestic.
