AN eight-year-old performer from Bromsgrove will be appearing in the spotlight at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, after he was chosen for the cast of its Christmas panto Peter Pan.

George Passalacqua, is playing Michael Darling in half of the performances for the pantomime, which is running from December 12 to January 24 at the theatre.

Four boys landed the parts of the two Darling brothers, Michael and John for the city’s panto season, with each pair playing the parts every alternate night, performing 37 shows each during the six week run.

They were chosen through open auditions at the Grand led by the show’s director David Burrows and choreographer Steven Harris, where each of the boys had to perform a rehearsed poem or monologue, as well as reading excerpts from the Peter Pan script.

Local youngsters from Bishopswood, Rowley Regis, and Kingswinford were also successful and will be joining George in the cast.

The show also features the Chuckle Brothers as Paul and Barry Smee and EastEnders’ ‘Nasty Nick’ John Altman as Captain Hook.

Managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomimes division, Michael Harrison, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Archie, James, George and Liam to our company of performers, and know that they will have a truly memorable Christmas alongside our professional cast.”
