THE people of Bromsgrove have been playing host to 31 visitors from France this month as part of a trip organised by the town’s twinning association.

The French visitors who were all members of the twinning association of St Sauveur-Lendelin in Normandy, were welcomed to Bromsgrove for the town’s carnival weekend, receiving a personal welcome form district council leader Margaret Sherrey before heading out to enjoy the fun.

Bromsgrove Twinning Association chair Roger Westbury welcomed all the visitors, reminding them of the strong friendship between the two associations, and the benefits of staying with local families and polishing language skills provided by the associations.

A group went on to enjoy a day in Worcester with 30 members of the Bromsgrove association, taking in a boat trip, a visit to the Hive and a guided historical walk ending at the cathedral, before enjoying a meal at the New Inn, Bournheath and an evening at Barnt Green Social Club. Some of the visitors also took in events at Bromsgrove Folk Festival.
