A MEMORIAL service for the thousands of men and boys killed in in a Bosnian town 20 years ago will be held in Bromsgrove this Saturday, July 11, at 2pm.
The "Remembering Srebrenica" event, to be held in the Spadesbourne Suite in Burcot Lane, has been organised by Aksa Khan, a Muslim woman from Catshill.
A similar event commemorating those killed in the massacre was held on Monday at Westminster Abbey and others are planned across the country.
Mrs Khan said: "We invite anybody who wishes to come along to the service, where there will be inter-faith prayers and we will be showing footage of what happened in the atrocities in Srebrenica, together with some of the survivors' stories.
"We want to raise awareness and bring communities together to try to make sure this kind of thing does not happen again."
