ASHMOLEAN Museum, in Broadway, is hosting an art exhibition of Chinese garden plants as well as revealing popular leisure activities and famous romantic scenes from Chinese literature.

In traditional Chinese gardens, plants and flowers with specific symbolic meanings are used to create idealised miniature landscapes, in which people enjoy and celebrate the harmony between man and nature. Gardens are also often important settings for romance, as represented in Chinese literature, due to the privacy they provide.

The exhibition will be on display at the museum in the high street from June9 to September 20. The museum and shop are open frtom Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Admission charges apply.
