A TRAGEDY masked by a Hollywood fantasy is coming to Bromsgrove's Artrix.

Embarking on her first tour theatre maker Hannah Graham and her company present Collidoscope.

When an unexpected tragedy has everyone talking about funerals and finger food, Anna seeks escape by impersonating the character of the 1930s Hollywood bombshell, Madeleine Carroll.

Taking the audience from West Bromwich to West Virginia and back again, this powerful and contemporary, part autobiographical story, is told through a shifting rhythmical patchwork of poetry, live music and cabaret style stand up.

Swaying from stark openhearted confessions to sultry renditions of Irving Berlin’s classic songs, Collidoscope is a bittersweet story of how fantasy and reality collide in the effervescent mind of an ordinary girl on an extraordinary journey.

Collidoscope marks the first partnership between Hannah’s company Freshold Theatre and London based UNTitled Theatre.

The show is best described as a dark comedy; poetic storytelling meets Little Voice in a New York cabaret style form.

It is at the Artrix on June 6.
