A BROMSGROVE fun run has been called a huge success after beating last year's total.

This year's Lymphoma Research’s Bromsgrove and District Voluntary Branch's fun run was held on Sunday, May 10.

The event, which is in its 27th year, over the year has raised thousands for the charity.

The fun run took place at Bromsgrove Rugby Club, in Finstall Road,

There were two options, a 10 kilometre race and a five kilometre.

In a new innovation, all runners will be chip timed this year so that they will have an accurate completion time when they cross the finish line.

The winners of the 10 kilometre were Adam Peacock and Joanne Scott, while the winners of the five kilometre were Nick Hitchings and Rebecca Sevley.

Nicole Harris, chairman of the branch, said: “The event was fantastic.

“The weather was great and we have raised more money than ever.

“I would say that we have raised at least £15,000 with about 450 runners.

“I would like to thank every one who took part and all volunteers who helped on the day to make it such a huge success.”
