MEMBERS of Worcestershire's top Asperger's support charity were visited by the Wyre Forest parliamentary candidate as they took pat in the World Autism Awareness Campaign.

Aspie members were delighted to receive a visit from Mark Garnier, the Conservative candidate, on Wednesday, April 15, after he was specially invited to come and meet them and hear of the charity's expanding activities, including research associates from various universities, group counselling, visits from a freelance artist, and forming their own football team, in supporting those on the autism spectrum.

With members coming from all over Worcestershire, including Kidderminster, Stourport, and Bewdley, chairman Julia Micklewright said it meant a lot to those that used the service, which is based in Worcester, to have the MP candidate visit, who has served the Wyre Forest as MP for the last five years.

Also, as part of the work Aspie does with adults with Asperger's to get them back into work, training, and education, Mr Garnier learned about the micro-enterprise project being run by the charity based on internet activities, which will be similar to MiEnterprise, Leominster, but will trade in internet-based services such as web design, computer games development, accountancy, through to eBay-type sales.
